FLORIDA REAL ESTATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or its equivalent and meet the qualifications of Chapter 475.15 Florida Statutes. Below are additional requirements to obtain your license:

 

Real Estate Associate:

1. Successfully complete a FREC approved pre-licensing course for sales associate consisting of 63 classroom-hours and covering topics required by FREC. Online course is permissible.
2. Submit a completed Application, Electronic Fingerprints Record, and fee of $105 payable to DBPR-Division of Real Estate. See below for fingerprint fee..
(you may submit this package prior to completing step #1)
3. Pass the Florida Real Estate Sales Associate examination with a grade of at least 75



Real Estate Broker:

1. Successfully complete a FREC approved pre-licensing course for brokers consisting of 72 classroom hours and covering topics required by FREC. Online course is permissible.
2. Submit a completed application, Electronic Fingerprints Record, and fee of $115 payable to DBPR-Division of Real Estate. (you may submit this package prior to completing step #1)
3. Pass the Florida Real Estate Broker Examination with a grade of at least 75.
4. Hold an active real estate sales associate license and complete 24 months real estate experience during the preceeding 5 years.


You need to have your fingerprints done digitally and you can go to the web site www.pearsonvue.com to find out information on the locations. The cost of the fingerprints is $71.25..
